HOW TO LIVE, LOVE AND ENJOY LIFE. (WHAT IS REALLY IMPORTANT IN LIFE?)

I am going a little off topic which I will do from time to time.  I have been in deep thought today.  The question is What Is Really Important In Life?  After losing family members over the years I have thought about all the good times we shared.  The family dinners where the family came from all over and we just sat, ate, laughed, and enjoyed each other.

The memory of my Elderly Aunt dancing and we all laughed till our belly's hurt.   These times were very important for the children of that time because it taught us the real meaning of life.  To think of all the people we have lost is painful to even think about at times.

Flower, Rose, Romance, Nature, Love

The real meaning of life to me is living comfortable and that means finding joy in spending time with my Daughter and Grandson and enjoying natures beauty, taking in the sights of the city, writing, and self-expression.  Family's are not as close as they used to be, so we have to create beautiful memories for our children so they can share the amazing stories with their own children.

My Daughter and I look at old photo's and laugh at the old fashions we used to wear years ago.  She was into The Spice Girls and Brittany Spears, so we chuckle at the pictures of her wearing fashions from that time period and we laugh at my old hairstyles.

Finding what is important in life includes: Sharing yourself, sharing knowledge, being thankful for what you have and embracing yourself and others.  That means being loving and forgiving.

The older I get, material things are not as important as they used to be.  So, what is important is that I share in the human experience and I am enjoying sisterhood and learning from other Ladies.

I am an introvert so it is not always easy to find friends but I am learning that you need others to share the experience of life.  As we age, we will lose more and more friends and love ones, so it is very important to find new friendships and nurture old ones.

I have never shared so much of myself as I have in the last three years since I have been Vlogging and Blogging and I am so happy that I did because it is like a Diary that my family can see and remember this time when I fully stepped out my box.  When my life is over, they will look back at my body of work, my art form and they will smile and remember that I was the happiest I have ever been in my life.

The most important thing in life is not money.  It is being happy in your own skin.   I would like to know what is really important in life for you.  Let me know in the comment section.

Thank you for caring and embracing me and allowing me to be myself (SashaMoniqueTalks).

THE MIRACLE USES FOR PETROLEUM JELLY

A MIRACLE IN A JAR

As long as I have lived on this earth, I have known about Petroleum Jelly.  Mom would send my Sister or I to get it from her dresser or either in the bathroom  medicine cabinet.
We would use Petroleum Jelly on our hands, legs, on our scalps and for a lot of other uses.

On cold day's, you could walk to school and see a lot of kids with Petroleum Jelly on their face to keep their skin from being dry.

I love this product because their are so many way's you can use it.  You can purchase it for very reasonable prices and it really works!

I am going to tell you many way's to use Petroleum Jelly:

  1. Makeup removal
  2. Put on your lips to keep them soft and supple
  3. Put a little on your nails and buff to a shine.
  4. Add to hinges on a door to make door easier to open and close without squeaking.
  5. Soak your feet and then add the Jelly to the soles of your feet and put socks on to make your feet soft and smooth.
  6. Add a tiny bit to your eyelashes to make them look longer without using Mascara.
  7. You can add a little to a paper towel and buff your winter boots to make them shine and stay new looking.
  8. Use a little on your baby when changing their diaper to prevent diaper rash.
  9. Add a little to your eyebrows to protect skin when arching them with a razor.
  10. Add a little to your eyelids before putting on eye shadow to make it last longer.

PLUS SIZE LADIES, SHOW YOUR COLOR

ORANGE WITH CLASS

BLUE AND WHITE WITH PIZZAZ

BEAUTIFUL IN WATER COLOR

PASTEL YELLOW AND FLIRTY

LEMON YELLOW WITH CURVES

PEACOCK COLORS AND FABULOUS

GREEN AND BLUE WITH MASS APPEAL

ABSTRACT WITH COLORFUL SOPHISTICATION

Ladies, I just wanted to debunk the myth that we should not wear color.  We can find clothing in the right shapes that will make us look just as pretty as any other women.  Color can bring out our beautiful playful nature.  I am a big fan of colorful clothing and some people feel that we should only wear black and that is not so.

Black clothing can sometimes make us look dowdy and plain old boring.  This is how I feel about it.
When I am shopping I like to look for colors that will enhance my complexion.  Someone asked me why I wear so many colors and I turned right around and asked them why they don't and they said; colors will make you look bigger and  (fat women)  should not be seen in them.

I love to create my own trends in regard to dressing my plus size body.  I think that I look pretty in color and I will not dim my light for anyone and neither should you.

My problem areas are my arms and my stomach, but, you can learn how to camouflage these areas.

As you can see, all these ladies in these pictures look absolutely terrific and I would wear any one of these outfits.

The main thing that we should remember is dressing for our shape and body type.  If the outfit, you wear is fitting you poorly, then you should pick another one that is flattering, but you can wear any color you want.

HOW TO PLAN A ROAD TRIP AND SAVE MONEY

Trees, Mountain, Road Trip, Nature

You may be planning a road trip or going to a funeral or wedding in another State.  I am going to give you some old-fashioned tips on how to save money and make this trip much easier.

You need to call family members and find out exactly who is going and let everyone know the arrangements as far as who is going to share in the Gas and the Tolls for the trip.  It is a good idea to plan on what food you will prepare and take so that you can lessen the cost associated with food while going on this trip.
  1. Talk to other people in the family about preparing sandwiches, fried chicken, and food that people in the family with health issues will require.
  2. 2 family members can bring all the beverages for the entire family.
  3. Buy and freeze water the day before the trip.
  4. Purchase First Aid Kit.
  5. Bring soap, hand sanitizer, toilet tissue and paper towels.
  6. Pack medications you will need.
  7. Go through you and your children's wardrobe and bring clothes that you already have so you do not have to purchase a lot of new things.  If you do purchase clothes, just buy one outfit for the event because people in other States have not seen your old clothes and this will further reduce the money you will have to spend.
  8. Buy paper plates, cups, and eating utensils
  9. .If possible, go to sleep very early the night before, because you will be on the road for a long time.
  10. Bring your Camera so you can take pictures of your family.

Now, you will be tempted to buy some food while you are on the road, but you will not spend as much.
Coming back home you will be stopping to get food and drinks but it is still cheaper than buying all these things going and coming.

Another Tip:
You and your immediate family can start a small fund to put in the bank towards emergency travel and each member can contribute $10.00 per month to save for unforeseen emergencies.

SPRING HAS SPRUNG AND WE ARE GOING TO STRUT OUR STUFF

Spring is here and we have waited long enough.  After fighting cold winds and snow, we are so ready right now to put on our spring gear and showcase all the different styles available to us; with all the pastel and bright colors.

Here are some examples that you can create with pieces from your wardrobe or you can use these examples when you shop for your new duds at the Mall.

If you are not a fan of color, these pieces can be toned down a bit or you can create a muted combination of this showcase but using the general idea that is shown here.

Sometimes I like to add color with just my handbag and shoes and that will make a big difference with the whole look.

SHOULD YOU THRIFT SHOP FOR YOUR SCHOOL AGED CHILDREN?

SHOULD YOU THRIFT SHOP FOR YOUR SCHOOL AGED CHILDREN

By now, you all know about my love for thrifting and my love affair with it.  My Mom used to thrift for us sometimes and there wasn't a great variety of clothing in good condition for school aged children.  At this time, thrifting could be a source of inner shame and resentment because children can be cruel.  The thrift stores of that time were dimly lighted places, that nobody but the people hard on their luck could afford.

You would see people scour through the aisles of faded, out of style clothing that should have been thrown away.

So, here is my opinion about buying used clothing for school aged children.  I think that you should go to some regular discount stores first and pick up a few inexpensive outfits and stop by the supermarket and buy a leading fashion magazine for children and teens, so you can look and see what children are wearing these days.

You can also go to the Mall and just go into some stores that sell kids clothes to see what they are selling and you can do this without purchasing anything.

What you are doing is getting an idea of what's in style and then you will head over to a few thrift stores and look in the kids section to see whether there is anything that looks like the clothing that you saw in the Mall.

If you only see a few tops or pants; grab those up because you are on a quest to build your children's wardrobe but you do not want the clothing to look like it is thrifted.

Always ask your kids whether they like the items and whether they will feel proud wearing them.  If the answer is yes, then, you can continue shopping around in other thrift stores for stylish clothing for your kids.

Make sure that you find out when the sale days are and you want to make almost every sale to shop for your kids clothing.

You will be mixing in some new outfits from discount stores with the thrifted clothes and before long, your children will have a fresh and fabulous wardrobe.

Some of the younger people in my family love thrifting and they are able to find some expensive brand name clothes at the thrift store and nobody knows it but us.

If you have teenagers, give them clips from the magazine to take with them to the thrift store and see if they can create those same outfits on a budget.

Note:  If your kids are totally opposed to the thrift store and it would cause them shame; then, you would just let them shop at discount stores to get their clothes and give them a budget and they must stick to it.

Even if they do not like thrift stores now, they may appreciate it in the future, just like I did.
