It Doesn't Take A Disaster To Show Gratitude.

This morning I was thinking about gratitude and the fact that we have an opportunity to help and support each other. It doesn't and shouldn't take a disaster to help your fellow man.  Going to your local adult daycare center to share your skills with elderly men or women can be such a blessing.

Exchanging ideas with one another is free and if you see anyone who needs assistance and you know of any way they can get help, please share, don't hold back.  If you see a young mom and she doesn't have any money to buy milk or wash her clothes, slip a few bucks and a note under her door.

We don't have to wait for the government to come in to help with everything, it is plenty we can do. Some of us have become selfish as a society and many people who are needy are faced with judgment and you have to realize that one day you may need help yourself.

One thing you will find out after a disaster is that your job or your employment title doesn't mean anything.  Most of us are one step away from being homeless and it is really something to think about. No man is an island which means that you are vulnerable and you will surely need help from someone.

I hope that this post encourages someone who may be going through some obstacles that there will be someone with a caring heart and that help is on its way, and also to let you know that it doesn't take millions of dollars to show gratitude to someone else.  You can be a candle in darkness!
