Good Hygiene And Dressing Well Are Very Important!

Hello, Ladies And Gentlemen.  I was out shopping yesterday and there were a lot of people standing around filling out job applications and also waiting to get a chance to talk to the store manager.

I saw about twelve people.  One young man wore a very nice white shirt, black pants, and a tie.  You could tell that he was really enthusiastic about getting an interview and snagging a job.

There was another young lady and she had a cute simple fit and flare dress and her hair was impeccably styled.

I then started to scan the room and I saw some people with shorts and t-shirts, run overshoes and some had sneakers on.  Two ladies look like they just got out of bed and came to fill out applications.

Another lady had on a sparkly tank top and leggings and it was totally inappropriate. I can safely assume who got the job and who didn't.

If you don't care enough about your appearance, you are not fit for employment.  It has nothing to do with finances because you can at least buy one outfit to wear to a job interview.

This outfit can even come from a thrift store or ask someone that you know if they have a shirt and pants or a skirt and blouse that you can borrow.

First appearances are very important and you will not get that chance again to impress that employer.

I am talking to the people who have been out of work for some time and may not have the money to buy an impressive outfit.

Keep an open mind and you will find an outfit that is nice.  You can even wear this outfit for various interviews.

If you are looking for a job you must look like you are seeking one.

Am I Too Old To Be A Blogger??

I have been thinking about this question for a while and it has even come up in conversations.  Am I Too Old To Be A Blogger??  Well, I am going to say, Heck No!
Blogging is a hobby for me and it has the potential of becoming a business, would you ask an Author whether they are too old to write, no you wouldn't.

As a blogger, you have the chance to share your life and your experiences with others and we all have the ability to start thought-provoking conversations with each other.  I plan on taking blogging to new heights and build a business that will be here even when I am no longer here.

Never let anyone put you into a box because of your age because that is stifling and also prejudicial. You are in charge of spreading your beautiful message throughout the world to share your knowledge, expertise and the jewels that living a ripe old age has given you.

So spread your wings ( old bird) and fly to new and greater heights.

This Dress Is Cute!

                                                    This Dress Is Cute!

I went to the Mall about a week ago and I saw this simple, black, dress.  I love the cut of this garment and the material was good quality and heavy.  These kinds of dresses are a staple that we all should have because it can be dressed up or down.  You can wear this dress year round and just add a blazer when the weather gets cooler.

I didn't purchase it but if it is still around, I will go back and buy it.

Dressing The Part? (Should You!)

Many years ago while growing up, I can remember Mom pressing me and my sister's hair and getting our clothes ready to go to church on Sunday Morning.  She took pride in the way our clothes look and all the mothers did the same to make sure that their kids look presentable to go to the Lords house.

In my teen years, there was a lot of emphasis on fashion and what you look like in those days and although I wasn't the best dress, a lot of people were.

When I was in my twenties, we would all go out and people would be dressed sharp to go to a club, restaurant, church, funeral and other events and you would really stand out like a sore thumb if you didn't.

Now, starting in the mid to late 1990's I noticed that people no longer got dressed up to go to church unless they were in their fifties or sixties and the kids would wear pants and regular items that they would wear to school.

I don't understand why things changed but in some instances, it was a good idea because people could go to church and other events and could be comfortable and without spending a lot of money, but, I also feel that young people these day's don't know what appropriate dress is.  There are a time and place for everything and I believe that it would be good for someone to teach young people how and what to wear for an interview and what to wear once you get a job because it is very important.

Many times people will receive a job or increase in pay based on their appearance.  Do I think it is fair  (No!) but this is just the way it is.  You are perceived by the way you look based on your hygiene and your appearance.

There may be times in your life where you may not have the money to buy the kind of clothes that you would like because of a loss of a job or etc. but, what you can do is start by buying some pieces in the same color such as pants and skirts and then add color with tops and plain shoes and after while you will build your wardrobe the way that you want it to be.

Create a uniform with your clothing so you will always have something nice to wear.

Dressing the part is important!
